Peanut chutney is another quick chutney we can make.Peanut is also called Nilakadalai or Verkadalai in Tamil.

If we roast peanut and store in a bottle we can make this chutney in 5 min.Peanut is good for health.This chutney will not get spoil when we pack for lunch box as we didnt add coconut to it.When we wake up late and thinking what to prepare for breakfast and lunch! then make peanut chutney with dosa for breakfast and pack peanut chutney with idli for lunch.

Soon i will post peanut thogayal which is my all time favourite from my chilhood.My grandmother use to make this thogayal.She use to grind in Ammi-Kal indian hand grinder.Here is the picture of Ammi kal.Thogayal tastes heavenly.

Roasted unsalted peanut – 1/2 cup
Tamarind                          – small piece
Red chilli                           – 1
Curry leaves                     – 1 string


Mustard seeds   – 1/2 tsp
Urad dal             – 1/2 tsp
Oil                      – 1 tsp
Curry leaves      – 1 string
Hing                    – 1/4 tsp

Step by step method to make Peanut chutney

1.In a mixer grind red chilli,curry leaves first without water.

2.Next add peanuts and tamarind to it and grind without water.

3.Now add water to it with salt and grind coarsely.Transfer to bowl.

4.Heat kadai,add oil,when oil gets hot ,toss mustard seeds.When mustard seeds start to splutter add urad dal,hing and curry leaves to it.

5.Transfer to chutney

6.Serve with idli,dosa
