Chicken Pulao recipe|How to make quick chicken Pulao
Jeera rice(Seeraga samba rice)- 2 cup
Chicken – 750 gms
Oil – 6 tbsp
Onion – 1 big sliced
Yogurt – 1 cup or 250gms
Ginger Garlic paste – 3 tbsp
Green chilli – 2 or as needed
Red chilli – 2 or as needed
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Black pepper corns – 1 tsp
Cardamom =- 5
Cloves – 4
Cinnamon stick – 1 small stick
Star anis – 2
Lemon – 1 big sliced
Garam masala – 2 3/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 3/4 tsp
Water – 2 cup for cooking rice
Step by step method to make Chicken Pulao recipe
1.Wash chicken and keep it aside.
2.Rinse rice and soak for 15 min
3.In a pan add oil,when oil gets hot add cumin seeds,fennel seeds.they starts to crackle.Add whole garma masala with red chilli,Saute 1 min
4.Then add Onion and saute unitil we get golden brown color.
5.Add ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell goes off
6.Then add chicken to it with turmeric powder,garam masala,green chilli and salt for chicken.Give a quick stir and cook chicken in medium flame .Water from chicken will ooze out.Cook chicken until half done.
7.Then add beaten yogurt,stir quickly else yogurt will curdle.Add rice to it and cook in yogurt until rice absorbs yogurt.
8.Transfer rice to rice cooker with 2 cups of water,salt and lemon wedges.
9.Chicken Pulao is done ,Serve hot with raita
1.Cook chicken until half done before adding rice
2.Add red chiili and green chilli as per taste,only chilli gives spiciness to pulao add accordingly to taste.
3.We can use basmathi rice instead of jeera rice.Jeera rice has more briyani flavour in it.
4.We can substitute lemon with tomato.But adding lemon wedges to this chicken pulao highlights taste.
5.Beat yogurt before adding ,to avoid lumps.After adding yogurt stir quickly to avoid curdling
6.For cooking Pulao i have added 1 cup water for 1 cup rice.Dont add more water this will make Chicken Pulao mushy.Same measurement for Basmathi rice too
