Peanut chutney|Nilakadalai chutney|Groundnut chutney
This is my second version peanut chutney with step by step method.My first version peanut chutney is really a quick version.Here is the link for Quick Peanut chutney.
Chutneys,thogayal with peanuts will tastes yummy.Only thing we have to do beforehand is to roast peanuts and keep it ready.I am using store bought ready to use unsalted peanuts.This peanut chutney goes well with dosa,idli.Whenever we grind chutney we should grind coarsely,If we grind like a paste it doesnt taste that good.
Unsalted Roasted peanut – 3/4 cup
Oil – 2 tsp
Onion – 1/4 chopped
Garlic – 2 pods chopped
Red chilli – 1
Tamarind – small lemon size(optional)
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Urad dal – 1 /2 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 string
Step by step method to make peanut chutney
1.Heat oil in kadai add chopped onion and garlic
2.Saute until onion turns golden brown.This will give sweetness to chutney
3.In a Mixie grind peanut,red chilli ,tamarind together without water.Then add saute onion and garlic to it and grind coarsely.Add little water to grind.
4.Temper chutney and serve with idli or dosa
1.Saute Onion until golden brown so that chutney will have little sweetness
2.Tamarind is optional.
3.Grind coarsely to get tasty chutneys.
